Heathrow Terminal Guide 2026: Which Terminal Is Your Flight?
Everything you need to know about navigating Heathrow's five terminals — which airlines use which terminal and where to be dropped off.
Heathrow Airport has five passenger terminals, and if you've ever turned up at the wrong one, you'll know exactly how stressful that can be. This guide tells you everything you need to know about Heathrow's terminal layout, which airlines fly from where, and how to navigate between them if you need to.
Heathrow Terminal Overview
Heathrow's terminals are numbered T2 through T5 — Terminal 1 closed in 2015 and its flights were redistributed to T2 and T3. Each terminal has its own departures, arrivals, drop-off zone and public transport connections.
Terminal 2 — The Queen's Terminal
Terminal 2 is the home of Star Alliance carriers and is often considered one of Heathrow's best-designed terminals. Airlines using T2 include United Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada, TAP Air Portugal, Aer Lingus and many others.
Drop-off: The drop-off zone is on the forecourt directly outside the departures entrance on the upper level.
Meet & Greet for arrivals: Your driver will meet you in the arrivals hall on the ground floor of T2, with a name board visible as you exit the secure area.
Terminal 3 — International Terminal
T3 handles a range of international carriers including American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Qantas, Delta and Virgin Atlantic. It's a busy terminal with a large range of long-haul departures.
Drop-off: Road access via the Northern Perimeter Road. Drop-off on the forecourt outside departures.
Arrivals: Ground floor arrivals area. Taxis meet in the designated area as you exit customs.
Terminal 4 — South Terminal
T4 is Heathrow's quietest terminal, situated to the south of the main campus and connected to T2/T3 via the underground Heathrow Express. Airlines using T4 include Malaysia Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Korean Air and Iberia (some routes).
Important: T4 is not on the main campus — access is via a separate spur road off the M25/A3044.
Terminal 5 — British Airways Hub
T5 is British Airways' home and handles the majority of BA's worldwide network, plus Iberia Express and Vueling. It is Heathrow's largest and busiest terminal.
Drop-off: Upper level forecourt outside T5 departures — follow signs from the M4 spur.
Arrivals: T5 arrivals is on the ground floor. Your driver will be waiting with a name board as you exit the baggage hall.
