Late Night and Early Morning Airport Transfers: What You Need to Know

A large proportion of our transfers operate outside normal hours. Early morning departures for long-haul flights, late-night arrivals from holiday returns, midnight pickups from delayed inbounds — these are a normal, daily part of our operation. Here's how we handle them.

Early Morning Departures

Many UK flights — particularly to long-haul destinations and popular European routes — depart between 6am and 8am. To make a 6am flight, you typically need to be at Heathrow or Gatwick by 4am–4:30am, which means a 2:30am–3:30am pickup from central Surrey.

What to expect: Your driver will confirm the night before with a message or call. They'll arrive at the exact agreed time — early-morning drivers are experienced in operating quietly and efficiently.

The roads: 3am to 5am is the clearest period on Surrey's roads. A journey that takes 50 minutes at 8am may take 30 minutes at 3am. We factor this in when agreeing pickup times.

Booking advice: For 3am–4am pickups, book at least 48–72 hours in advance. Early-morning slots fill up quickly, particularly around school holiday periods.

Late Night Arrivals

Inbound flights arriving after 10pm or midnight are equally common. After a 10–12 hour flight, the last thing you want is to figure out transport at midnight.

What to expect: Your driver tracks your flight in real time. If it lands 90 minutes late, your driver's schedule adjusts automatically. You'll find them in the arrivals hall with your name board regardless of the time.

After midnight arrivals: Airports are quieter but not empty late at night. Immigration is typically faster than peak daytime. The drive home through quiet roads is often the most pleasant part of the journey.

Tips for Unsociable Hour Travel

- **Confirm the pickup the night before.** We'll message you to confirm driver and vehicle details. - **Set multiple alarms for 3am pickups.** Not a reflection on us — just prudent. - **Keep your phone charged.** If there's any issue, being reachable is essential. - **Don't cut the pickup time too fine.** Even at 3am, unexpected things can happen. We always build in buffer time.

We Don't Charge Extra for Night Journeys

There are no night surcharges on our transfers. The price quoted is the price you pay, regardless of whether it's 3pm or 3am.
